Errol Linton Band ‘Break The Seal’ Album Launch
“Errol Linton is the finest blues and reggae harmonica player in Europe. And I say that with utter confidence” – Max Reinhardt, BBC Radio 3 Late Junction
“Errol Linton stands at the forefront of British Blues” – Garth Cartwright, The Guardian
A multi-award-winning performer, including a coveted ‘Best International Blues Act’ nomination at the Jazz FM Awards, Errol’s career has spanned an impressive 30 years. Linton is releasing his third studio album, Break the Seal with Brass Dog Records. Recorded and engineered at Toe Rag Studios by Liam Watson, Grammy Award winner for production of a White Stripes record, also produced by Liam and Tim Bulleyment.
Hard as it is to believe but Errol Linton has been playing the Brixton Blues for nearly thirty years. Initially a busker on London streets and metro, Errol was noticed early on by John Walters – John Peel’s celebrated producer – who would film Errol in 1990 for a BBC documentary (it’s on Youtube). But even during that era of mega-CD sales, no record label dared take a chance on the Lambeth youth who sounded like no one else. Still, those listening to contemporary blues paid attention: I first encountered Errol at The Station Tavern in Ladbroke Grove in 1996.
Errol Linton Band recently won the UK Blues Challenge 2023 in Milton Keynes at the Marshall Centre. They went on to represent the UK Blues Federation in January 2024 in Memphis, USA, and April 2024 in Braga, Portugal, reaching the semi-finals in both competitions and gaining great experience and exposure.
Linton has also worked with world-famous guitar hero Joe Bonamassa at Abbey Road studios for his album Royal Tea.
