Emily Masser is a 21-year-old jazz singer from Wigan, currently studying at London’s Guildhall School of Music. A former student of the renowned Chetham’s School of Music, she benefitted from invaluable mentorship by her father, respected saxophonist Dean Masser.
Her breakthrough came with the release of Songs With My Father, a heartfelt album dedicated to her late mother. The record has earned glowing reviews for Emily’s “pin-sharp singing, sparkling scat, and polished vocalese” (UK Jazz Views), alongside praise for its warmth and maturity.
Emily performs with an all-star rhythm section featuring pianist Matyas Gayer, bassist James Owston, and drummer Steve Brown, presenting her arrangements with freshness and swing.
In high demand, Emily and her band have appeared at leading UK jazz festivals and clubs, including Buxton International Festival, Swanage Jazz Festival, Scarborough Jazz Festival, Brecon Jazz Festival, Southport Jazz Festival, and Pizza Express Dean Street, further solidifying her reputation as a “new star of British jazz.”
