Sambossa NEW YEAR’S EVE Late Show
Sambossa is a standout London-based Brazilian music quartet that captures the vibrant spirit of Brazil in a compact yet powerful ensemble. Blending the cool sophistication of bossa nova, the infectious energy of samba jazz, and the groove of afro-funk, the group also reimagines soul and pop favourites through a distinctly Brazilian lens.
Their repertoire spans original compositions and authentic classics, offering rich textures and irresistible rhythms that engage both discerning listeners and dancers. With three accomplished composers in the lineup, Sambossa delivers a dynamic and refreshing take on Brazilian music, full of warmth, creativity, and rhythmic flair.

Born into a family of musicians, her artistic roots run deep, and her formal training in acting adds expressive power and emotional nuance to her singing. Carolina has released original material as a solo artist and rose to national prominence with her memorable appearance on The Voice Brazil in 2018. With a natural flair for performance and a deep love for Brazilian music, she continues to enchant listeners both in Brazil and abroad.
Paul Rumbol is a London-based bandleader, guitarist, and composer with over 25 years of deep involvement in Brazilian and world music. His rich musical journey includes collaborations with some of Brazil’s finest artists, and his talents extend beyond the guitar to include vocals and the cavaquinho, a traditional Brazilian instrument. Renowned for his innovative style, Paul performs on a custom hybrid guitar that allows him to seamlessly blend guitar, bass, and other textures in real time—creating a layered, dynamic sound that defines his unique musical voice.
Marcinho Pereira is a Brazilian drummer and educator born in Tapera, Rio Grande do Sul. He began his musical journey at 14, later studying with legendary drummer Kiko Freitas and gaining early recognition by winning the Technique category of the 1999 Batuka! drum contest. A versatile session musician and passionate jazz artist, he has performed and recorded extensively in Brazil and Europe with projects ranging from Brazilian jazz and MPB to funk and samba, working alongside names like Filo Machado and Arthur Verocai. Based in Italy and now London, Marcinho has taught at Hornchurch High School, given workshops across Europe, and continues to lead his own project, Djangada, a Funky Brazilian Jazz Trio. He is a former Gretsch endorsee and current Bosphorus Cymbals artist.
