Southbound Folk
Southbound is a London-based band taking folk music in a bold, original direction. They sit at the crossroads of British folk, brass funk, and groove-driven contemporary jazz, creating a sound that’s deeply rooted yet unmistakably modern – massive trad with a metropolitan twist.
Regular performers across London venues, Southbound have gained a reputation for electrifying live shows, fusing intricate folk melodies with virtuosic improvisation and shouty folk sing-alongs. Their sound is as thrilling as it is hard to pin down: folk-jazz meets Celtic fusion, performed with a brassy mayhem.
Fronted by tin whistle and powered by brass and drums, the line-up brings together the freshest talent from the folk, jazz, and session scenes. Drawing on the spirit of British folk traditions, the band combines their technical skill with a shared instinct for collective energy and an infectious momentum.
Bold, groove-heavy, and built for movement, Southbound are redefining what contemporary folk can feel like – fast becoming one of the most exciting new acts on the UK folk circuit.

- You can request to be seated in ‘Dizzy’ (raked theatre), ‘Duke’ (side wall), ‘Billie’ (front of stage) or ‘Mingus’ (near piano) and we will do our best to allocate you to your chosen seats.
- Though we can guarantee that you will have a table, we cannot guarantee exactly where, as we do our best to fulfil all customers requirements
- Seating in ‘Ella’ or ‘Satchmo’ (by the windows) is allocated last, unless specifically requested. Please note, a few of these seats are restricted view
- All seats are at a table or bar where you can order food and drink with table service
