The Curious Cabaret

An incredible evening of legerdemain, laughter and libations;
astonishing magic, hilarious antics, and delicious food and drinks – the perfect night out, hosted by Member of The Magic Circle, Chris Wilder.

Established in 2018, the show can be seen every month in Nottingham but also travels around the UK for private performances, creating lasting memories of amazement and wonder for our audiences. We seek to champion and celebrate the art and performance of magic, showcasing the best and the breadth that magic has to offer.

WHAT TO EXPECT
If you always thought that the art of magic was just camera tricks or staged reactions then prepare to have your world turned upside down. Each month, the Curious Cabaret showcases professional magicians from around the UK and Europe who excel in their areas of magical expertise, demonstrating feats of mind reading, sleight of hand, visual magic, comedy and illusion.

Throughout the evening you can expect to be amazed and astounded, enjoy fits of laughter, and find yourself asking ‘how’? The show is interactive, often involving audience members on stage, but rest assured we always aim to look after our guests and put them at ease. If you are nervous about being selected that’s no problem – just let us know – we always aim to help you to enjoy the evening. The show is designed for adults and lasts 2 hours, including one or two short intervals to allow you to top up on food and drinks and perhaps discuss your theories of exactly how we did it!

Chris Wilder is a professional magician and Member of The Magic Circle with a love of time travel, obscure movie trivia, and cups of tea. As the host of The Curious Cabaret, Chris is sure to charm and beguile you with his own brand of wit and wonder, and maybe a card trick thrown in for good measure.

Joining us this month, Nikola Arkane captivates audiences and viewers across the world with a unique, fresh and theatrical style of magic. In recent years Nikola has won several prestigious conjuring competitions and has been a regular guest performer at international venues like The Chicago Magic Lounge’s Virtual Cocktail hour, Monday Night Magic in New York, The Amsterdam Magic Show and has performed several times as the headliner for The Magic Castle’s virtual magic shows on behalf of The Academy of Magical Arts in Hollywood.
Alternating between subtle humour and passionate drama, sometimes from moment to moment, and sometimes in the same breath, Tom Stone, a magician who plays with what we see, and with what we think we see. His great passion for magic as an art form, his respect for its roots and its old masters, and his talent for dissecting human cognition and perception – and his ability to twist and turn the parts and put them together into something completely new, have given him recognition and respect from professional magicians around the world.
