Paul Desmond, the saxophonist who created one of the greatest world hits of jazz with his composition ‘Take Five’ would have been 100 years old in 2024. The jazz-group Pure Desmond takes this anniversary as an occasion to pay tribute to the life and music of this interesting and stylish man. This entertaining show tells the story of a sound conquering the world. The program is a tribute to significant works and timeless classics of the golden era of Cool Jazz. The focus is always on the music and aesthetics of Paul Desmond, who was a bon vivant and womanizer, tasty, elegant, modest, and known for his witty and subtle humor. His answer to the question how he developed his sound was: “I think I had it in the back of my mind that I wanted to sound like a dry martini”

- Twilight / Highlight Show (main seating area) – You can request to be seated in ‘Billie’ (front of stage), ‘Dizzy’ (raked theatre), ‘Mingus’ (near piano) or ‘Duke’ (side wall) and we will do our best to allocate you to your chosen seats
- Twilight / Highlight Show (Ella/Satchmo seating area) – you can request to be seated in ‘Ella’ (by the fireplace) or ‘Satchmo’ (by the windows). Please note, a few of these seats have a restricted view
- Though we can guarantee that you will have a table, we cannot guarantee exactly where, as we do our best to fulfil all customers requirements
- All seats are at a table or bar where you can order food and drink with table service
- If you are hoping to combine bookings or join an existing booking then please let us know in advance as we cannot guarantee that changes to our table plan will be possible on the night
