Nottingham based jazz drummer & bandleader Andrew Wood returns to Peggy's Skylight with his trio, featuring the talents of Martyn Spencer on double bass & Matthew Ratcliffe on piano. The trio regularly performs with some of the finest instrumentalists and vocalists within the UK jazz scene, with recent collaborators including Tina May, Dave O'Higgins, Tony Kofi & Dennis Rollins. On this occasion they are working with Pete Beardsworth, an artist also based in Nottingham who is quickly gaining recognition for his instrumental performance and prowess as a composer.

Pete is a multi instrumentalist, vocalist, songwriter and producer whose music is influenced by soul, Latin jazz and afrobeat. As a tenor saxophone player he looks up to Wayne Shorter and Joe Henderson. His music has been played by global DJs Gilles Peterson, Auntie Flo and Toshio Matsura. This performance with the Andrew Wood Trio is a rare opportunity to see Pete performing jazz standard repertoire as well as original material in this exciting Notts-centric collaboration!
