Original chilled out, sunshine jazz inspired by the intense stillness & beauty of the Sinai Desert & the Red Sea. Heavily influenced by the 1930’s most lyrical proponents of jazz this music is deeply soulful & descriptive
Having played for years on the Nottingham jazz and live music scenes, the musicians bring their wealth of skill and experience to breathe life into the music, creating mesmeric performances that transport audiences
Based in Nottingham, Red Sea has featured twice on BBC Introducing, been featured on BBC Radio Nottingham and has played some of the city’s most prestigious venues including Nottingham Contemporary, The New Art Exchange, The Maze, The Nottingham Green Festival & The Broadway Cinema

Red Sea are;
James Tolhurst – composer, trumpet, guitar and vocals
Bex Derry – vocals
Rob Coates – guitar
