‘Poetry Is Dead Good’ presents Bad Betty Tour 2021

Award-winning independent poetry publisher Bad Betty Press come to Peggy’s Skylight as part of their UK Tour.

Ingrid McLaren:
Ingrid is a sleepy writer, artist and musician who is trying to be heard and stuff. She has performed poetry nationally and internationally as part of the Public Address Tour with Apples and Snakes and with the Mouthy Poets. She was selected to perform as a regional poet at Hit the Ode in Birmingham, created a pop-up poetry film for Cece’s Speakeasy and ran a poetry and discussion event called Processed Feud in Brighton which was funded by hummus.

Tom Bland:
Tom Bland’s Camp Fear is out on Halloween with Bad Betty Press. He has an MA in Contemporary Performance Practice and has performed everywhere from a graveyard to King’s Place. His previous book, The Death of a Clown, is also with Bad Betty, and Litbitch said, “It’s a glimpse of humanity in all its filth”.

Antonia Jade King:
Antonia Jade King is one of the hosts of Boomerang Club, and a previous Hammer & Tongue finalist. She has featured at Poetry and Shaah and Heaux Noire and was part of Apples and Snakes Writing Room programme in 2018. She has performed at numerous events including Love Supreme festival and Rallying Cry at Battersea Arts Centre. She is currently a Barbican Young Poet and her debut pamphlet ‘She Too Is a Sailor’ is out with Bad Betty Press

There will also be an open mic, open to poetry veterans and first-timers alike! Sign up on the door for your chance to have your name drawn out of the hat to perform alongside this stellar line up!

The event will be hosted by Joshua Judson.

If you’ve not been to Peggy’s before, we have a Middle Eastern inspired menu, all cooked fresh, using locally sourced produce, and featuring our signature sourdough flatbreads. For certain events, we offer a special ‘online only’ set menu deal.
