A special evening with live music from two bands...
Red Sea play extremely chilled, self penned jazz originally inspired by the intense stillness & beauty of the Sinai Desert & the Red Sea. Heavily influenced by the 1930’s most lyrical proponents of jazz this music is deeply soulful & descriptive. Having played for years on the Nottingham jazz and live music scenes, the musicians bring their wealth of skill and experience to breathe life into the music, creating mesmeric performances that transport audiences. Recently featured on BBC Introducing, the band are Andy Tytherleigh- double bass, Rob Coates - guitar, Bex Derry - vocals and James Tolhurst - trumpet.
Swing Gitan turn up the heat, bringing to life the passion and energy of 1930s Paris, playing music inspired by the incredible Gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt, The Nottingham quartet has been gigging nationally for 6 years and features the virtuoso playing of guitarists Elliott Lewis and Arthur Tyers, the hugely experienced John Coulson on double bass, and James Tolhurst on trumpet.
