Join the multi award-winning UK jazz ensemble Empirical for a performance of their album Wonder is the Beginning, released on Whirlwind Recordings in 2024. Having started their journey in 2007, Empirical made a triumphant return, re-taking their rightful place at the centre of the UK scene, with their first full-length release since 2016.
Wonder is the Beginning is a mature musical statement that shows the band’s fire is still undimmed and their commitment to maintaining the legacy while forging their unique path is as strong as ever.
Empirical’s trademark combination of complex, thoughtful writing and spontaneous improvisation is enabled by the absolute trust that comes from years of collective music-making, and is at the heart of what makes Empirical stand out consistently on the musical landscape.

- Main seating area – You can request to be seated in ‘Billie’ (front of stage), ‘Dizzy’ (raked theatre), ‘Mingus’ (near piano) or ‘Duke’ (side wall) and we will do our best to allocate you to your preferred seats.
- Window seating areas – you can request to be seated in ‘Ella’ (larger window area) or ‘Satchmo’ (smaller window area). Please note, a few of these seats have a slightly restricted view.
- Though we can guarantee that you will have a table for the Dining Show, we cannot guarantee exactly where, as we do our best to fulfil all customers requirements.
- If you are hoping to combine bookings with somebody else or join an existing booking then please let us know in advance as we cannot guarantee that changes to our table plan will be possible on the night.
